What do I need to do to tell my tenants legally that I want them to?

A tenant is legally required to pay rent to the party named in the lease as Landlord, or to such other party as directed by written notice from the landlord. If you are the landlord named in the lease then you need only inform your tenants, via written notice, that they must pay rent directly to you unless so authorized by you in writing. If you are NOT the landlord named in the lease, but you are the property owner, then you will likely need an attorney to sort this out.
