Should I sign an estoppel agreement that is stipulated in my lease?

EDIT: Original answer deleted in favor of the comment by an actual lawyer, Mark Ravers ! The agreement can't stop anyone from filling for bankruptcy. At most, the landlord could use it as an argument in bankruptcy court to prevent the debt owed to the landlord from being discharged in the bankruptcy. In reality, the bankruptcy court will discharge the debts it deems appropriate and will pay zero attention to that agreement. What the form is really for is a screening method to gauge the credit worthiness of the tenant. If the potential tenant refuses to sign, the landlord will refuse to rent to that tenant and withdraw the lease offer.
