Can my landlord end a lease agreement early?

That depends. What reason did your landlord give for ending it early? IF the lease allows your landlord to terminate your lease, this would typically be due to: A violation of your lease (on your part), but only after going through the formal default process, all of which must be outlined in your lease. Damage to the property that renders the property unfit for occupancy. Damage in this case is typically that of the natural kind (tornado, hurricane, flood, fire, etc.). Condemnation by the government or other higher authority, which your landlord has no control over. These are the typical reasons why your lease would be allowed to terminate sooner than its natural expiration date, but every lease is different and your lease could say something entirely different. Look for Default section and a Termination section in your lease. Good luck! K
