Can I cancel a lease renewal agreement before the end of my current?
It depends. Contact the manager and tell them why you want to end the lease before the agreed time. If the reason is good - you got a job in another city, etc. the manager will be more likely to cooperate. However, they dont have to. You signed a legal agreement and are liable for the full lease term. What would help would be if you assist the manager in finding a new tenant. They do not assume your lease but sign a new one so their credit needs to be good and they agree to the terms of the new lease. Dont just leave because the manager can start legal action for breaking the lease and it will show on your credit as non-payment.
