Having done this twice myself, my recommendation is that you start by reviewing your lease agreement. Following that, contact the landlord and tell them youre looking to end your lease early. The earlier you have the conversation with them the better. See if you can get around any fees. Remember that terms can be changed as long as all parties agree to the change. If the landlord doesnt budget, then pay the early cancellation fee at noted in the lease agreement and move on with your life.
