What can be done for a landlord who is not returning my lease amount?
For India] If you are continuing to occupy that place after the lease has expired(and not renewed), you are the person who is committing a wrong in the eyes of the law. Nothing in law can force the landlord to renew the lease. If landlord is not returning deposit money(after deductibles), then you have to file complaint against him in civil court. But you will need to vacate the place first. Other way is to talk nicely to him and make him execute the lease agreement/deed.
