I'm in a lease with someone and I want to leave.?
if the lease is not expired, and your roommate does not want to release you, you have to pay until it expires. once it is expired, you can demand to be let out..check state laws. i have never been able to confirm if you can legally terminate the lease once it is expired with just your signature on the notice or if you have to take further steps like going to court to be removed. DO NOT EXPECT YOUR ROOMMATE TO ACCEPT A STRANGER YOU FIND ONLINE AS A REPLACEMENTand no roommate and LL have no duty to mitigate damages and find a new roommate
